  • The celebration focused on giving back through charity contributions, partnerships, and customer appreciation while setting the stage for an even stronger 2026.

OMODA & JAECOO South Africa closed out an exceptional year with a vibrant celebration on 7 December at Kyalami Shisanyama. The event brought together customers, ambassadors, partners, and members of the public for a day of music and giving back. It also serves as a moment of appreciation for the support shown throughout 2025, which has been an outstanding year for both marques. With several new model introductions, including electrified variants, and continued growth across both brands, 2026 is shaping up to be an even greater year.

A year marked by innovation and growth

Throughout 2025, OMODA & JAECOO significantly expanded their South African lineups with new models designed to push the boundaries of efficiency and value. For OMODA, the introduction of the all-new C7 moved the brand into the popular midsize SUV segment. The available turbopetrol and plug-in hybrid variants offer even more choice for consumers. The petrol C7 delivers 145 kW and 290 N.m of torque from a 1.6-litre engine, while the C7 SHS plug-in hybrid delivers 255 kW and 525 N.m of torque with an all-electric range of 105 km. Equipped with fast charging and a wide range of driver assistance features, the C7 reinforces the brand’s commitment to advanced and attainable electrified mobility.

The best-selling C5 also received notable upgrades in 2025 with the introduction of the Street+ and Style X derivatives. The Street+ delivers enhanced efficiency and increased performance through a turbocharged engine, while the Style X, along with the Lux X and Elegance X, now feature a new dual-clutch transmission, multi-link rear suspension, and updated styling. These improvements strengthened the C5 lineup as a whole and ensured that it continues to offer premium features at an accessible price point.

OMODA further expanded into the luxury plug-in hybrid space with the arrival of the C9 SHS. It offers an all-electric range of 150 km, combined outputs of 440 kW and 915 N.m, and a wide range of high-end features including Nappa leather seats, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, and dual 12.3-inch displays. The C9 lineup has established itself as a serious contender in the premium SUV segment with strong monthly sales.

On the JAECOO side, the year brought exciting additions aimed at motorists who value capability and comfort. The all-new J5 joined the lineup as a stylish compact SUV positioned below the popular J7. Powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 115 kW and 230 N.m, the J5 has broadened the brand’s appeal to families and young professionals who want modern design and high-end features at an affordable price.

The J7 range also grew with the addition of the plug-in hybrid SHS variant. With 255 kW and a 90 km all-electric range, the J7 SHS delivers excellent efficiency with a total driving range of more than 1200 km. Minor updates to the wider J7 range further strengthened the brand’s positioning.

In the first 11 months of 2025, Brand O&J delivered 11,310 new passenger vehicles to customers in South Africa, with strong month-on-month growth noted throughout the year. The introduction of the latest models mentioned above has expanded the brands’ appeal.

Year-end celebration at Kyalami Shisanyama

With a year of product momentum behind them, Brand O&J closed out 2025 with a vibrant celebratory festival at Kyalami Shisanyama on 7 December. The event brought together brand ambassadors, vehicle owners, and members of the public for a full day of entertainment led by some of South Africa's most recognisable artists. DJ Venom, Djy Biza, Pearl Thusi, DJ Zinhle, KO, Zee Nxumalo, Dali Wonga, Nomvelo Makhanya, and Nadia Nakai delivered standout performances that created a lively atmosphere throughout the venue.

In line with the event’s community-driven purpose, attendees arrived with generous contributions or non-perishable food items that will be donated to Frida Hartley Shelter. Every rand collected in ticket revenue has been allocated to the charity. The charitable effort was further amplified through a partnership with SPAR, which contributed ten R500 vouchers. In the days leading up to the festival, several ambassadors showcased their shopping experiences with these vouchers, helping raise awareness and motivating even more participation. As a gesture of appreciation, all Brand O&J customers in attendance were treated to a complimentary lunch, bringing a warm, memorable end to a day celebrating community spirit and the remarkable year OMODA and JAECOO have enjoyed.

Looking ahead

“As we conclude a year defined by growth, this celebration is our way of giving back, not only to our customers, but to the community as a whole,” commented Lungelo Zwane, Brand Manager for OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “With all the new models we have launched in 2025, our focus remains on delivering future-forward mobility solutions in 2026. This includes the upcoming OMODA C4 and several other new models.”
